1 dead in Charlotte arcade shooting, as city’s homicide toll continues to climb

A 35-year-old man was found fatally shot in a Charlotte arcade Friday night.

Police found Durrell Coleon Fuller of Charlotte with a gunshot wound when they arrived just before 9 p.m. at the Fish Hut Arcade in the 4000 block of Wilkinson Boulevard, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department news release.

Paramedics pronounced Fuller dead at the scene.

Police on Saturday announced the arrest of 49-year-old Akinto Maurice Boone of Charlotte on a first-degree murder charge in Fuller’s death.

Fuller’s death was Charlotte’s 66th homicide of the year, compared with 62 at this time last year, according to police.
