NC police: Woman accused of operating unlicensed care center where man vanished

A Greensboro woman was arrested Friday, accused of operating an unlicensed care facility where a 74-year-old man vanished in July.

“After extensive search efforts,” Larry Darnell Burton is still missing, police said. He was last seen around 10:30 p.m. July 2 and was reported missing the next day, according to a police statement.

Hazel Mae Forman, 50, was charged by warrant based on a North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services investigation, according to a police statement. She is free on a $10,000 bond.

Forman operated the facility in the 1200 block of Moody Street, police said. That’s off East Gateway Boulevard.

Police urge anyone with information on Burton’s whereabouts to call 911 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tips line at 336-373-1000.
