Teen accused of shooting into property arrested after vehicle chase by CMPD

Police arrested a teenager accused of a shooting into an occupied property after a vehicle pursuit in west Charlotte Thursday.

A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police alert said officers attempted a traffic stop a car at 9:45 a.m. because the teen driver was a suspect in the shooting.

But the driver did not stop and sped away from officers, CMPD said. Officers chased after him. The teenager eventually got out of the vehicle and ran before being detained by an officer shortly after.

Police did not release the teen’s age.
