2 people injured in Saturday morning shooting in west Charlotte

One person sustained life-threatening injuries in a Saturday morning shooting in west Charlotte, according to the Mecklenburg EMS Agency. A second person was injured in a related shooting a few streets down the road.

Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on two streets near Freedom Drive and Little Rock Road around 8:30 a.m., the Charlotte Observer’s news partner WSOC-TV reported.

The first victim was found on Glenmoor Drive and taken to Atrium Health’s Carolina Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, according to the EMS agency. The second victim was found on the neighboring Waterrock Road with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Observer has contacted the Mecklenburg EMS Agency seeking more information on the shootings.
