West Charlotte fire near school, baseball fields intentionally set, department says

A building near a school and baseball fields in west Charlotte was intentionally set on fire Tuesday night, the Charlotte Fire Department said.

The fire occurred in the 7500 block of Tuckaseegee Road, the department said at 11:59 p.m. in a post on X.

On Wednesday, the department said the fire caused $2,000 in property loss. No one was injured, and the fire was controlled in 23 minutes.

The building is located near West Mecklenburg High School and several baseball fields.

No charges had been announced.
