Kannapolis man found dead in yard was shot during fight with relative, police say

A 48-year-old Kannapolis man who was found dead in the front lawn of his home Tuesday afternoon was shot, a city spokesperson said Wednesday.

Craig Andrew Mullis was shot once during a fight with family member at a home on Woodlawn Street, said Annette Privette Keller.

Police responded to a call at 4 p.m. about a gunshot victim, she said.

No one has been charged, and the department won’t release the family member’s name, Privette Keller said.

The Rowan County District Attorney was given an investigative report and will decide if the family member will be prosecuted, she said.
