A man wanted in connection with the killing of a 38-year-old woman in NoDa’s business district was arrested in Alabama on Thursday, police said.

Police say 26-year-old Adaysia Yahel Coles was arrested without incident in Birmingham, Alabama.

Coles is accused of shooting Taylor Sylver in the 3200 block of North Davidson Street early Thursday, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Bessemer City police and the FBI assisted in the case, CMPD said.

Disturbance before shooting, police say

Police got a 911 call around 2:10 a.m. Thursday about the shooting. Sylver died at a hospital, police Capt. Lucas Veith said.

A disturbance occurred before the shooting, which happened on the street, Veith said.

Coles will be extradited to Charlotte. He was not listed in the jail Saturday.

Police urged anyone with information about the shooting to call CMPD Detective Ben Condron at 704-432-8477 or the Charlotte Crime Stoppers anonymous tips line at 704-334-1600.
