Deputies arrested a man after he fled from them in a Harrisburg neighborhood

A 47-year-old man was arrested at a home Tuesday evening after fleeing from a traffic stop in a Harrisburg neighborhood, a Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office incident report said.

He was charged with DWI, a felony drug offense and fleeing to elude arrest after he was picked up in the Orchard Park neighborhood.

The incident report said he led deputies on a short vehicle pursuit after they attempted to conduct a stop for “several motor vehicle violations.” Court records show he was also charged with failure to stop at a stop sign or flashing red light, failure to heed to a siren, a window tinting violation, and having a fake or altered tag or registration.

Deputies seized cocaine and found a “Cut straw with white power residue,” the incident report said.
