Birdsong Brewing baffled after bandit breaks in and steals shirts, dehumidifier

A popular Charlotte brewery said someone broke in on Wednesday and stole handmade items, including pride and tie-dye t-shirts, other merchandise and a dehumidifier. They smashed the glass front door of the business on Davidson Street.

“We’re especially bummed because a lot of time, effort, and care went into those items,” Birdsong Brewing Company said in a post on Instagram, which showed the damaged door. “The tie-dye shirts were hand-dyed by our team, and some of this merch had only just arrived.”

A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report said the thief caused $750 in damage by breaking the door and stole $500 in merchandise. The dehumidifier was valued at $100.

The police report said the burglary occurred overnight. Birdsong asked that if any merchandise was seen being sold online to let the business know.

No one has been arrested.
