Where should ACC tournament be played: Greensboro? Brooklyn? Charlotte? Another city?

The ACC men’s basketball tournament once was the jewel of North Carolina’s favorite pastime. What is its place now in the rapidly evolving, football-first world of college athletics? And how did the tournament become a shadow of what it once was? This is the N&O’s special report.

The ACC men’s basketball tournament has left North Carolina again in favor of Brooklyn, where the closest conference school is Boston College — 211 miles away.

Gone are the days of the tournament being a staple of Greensboro and being held almost annually in North Carolina.
