Alexander Central 61, Ashe County 58 ... The Cougars (13-2, 1-0) won this Northwestern 3A-4A showdown over the Huskies (11-3, 0-1). Julianne Walter (17 points) and Kirstyn Herman (13 points, 11 rebounds) led the Cougars. Jordan Jones had 15 points and nine rebounds for Alexander Central.

Cannon School 46, Providence Day 45 ... Samyha Suffren made both halves of a one-and-one with three seconds left, lifting the Cougars (11-6, 1-0) over the Chargers (12-2, 0-1) in a CISAA game.

Charlotte Christian 66, Covenant Day 50 ... Covenant Day led this CISAA game 43-40 after three quarters, but the Knights broke it open in the fourth quarter, outscoring Covenant Day 26-7.

Concord Academy 76, SouthLake Christian 19 ... Zoey Ward made 1-of-14 from the floor, scoring 28 points and adding 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals for the victors.

North Rowan 52, Lexington 28 ... The Cavaliers (10-3, 5-0) remained atop the Central Carolina 1A-2A, as Brittany Ellis scored 21 points.
