Social media reacts to Charlotte Hornets drafting Kentucky’s Malik Monk in Thursday’s NBA draft
The professional basketball team in Charlotte hasn’t always had the most luck in the NBA draft, but when Kentucky guard Malik Monk unexpectedly dropped to No. 11 during Thursday’s NBA draft, the Hornets picked him up.
Social media seemed to celebrate.
First, Monk’s future teammate, Nic Batum, told fans he was happy with the drafting of Monk and the team trading for center Dwight Howard earlier this week.
Buzz City it's been a great 72 hours. Welcome to Charlotte Malik Monk!

Malik Monk improved his NBA stock when he went from average shooter in high school to a very good one in college. Instant offense.

Even controversial New York Daily News columnist Shaun King thought Michael Jordan’s team made out like fat cats this time.
Hornets got a steal w/ Malik Monk.

And King was not alone.
Malik Monk could end up the steal of the draft. How'd an elite athlete and shooter fall this far? Easy pick for MJ. https://t.co/D9eym9IXv4 pic.twitter.com/bx7sWeTBbo
