The second location of a new to Charlotte — but already popular — breakfast restaurant is now open.

The Avenues at Atherton welcomed the newest Charlotte-area Snooze AM Eatery on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The restaurant joins Silverlake Ramen, Rockbox Fitness and Polished Nail Bar, which is listed as temporarily closed for renovations on its website.

The South End spot will feature a mural painted by local artist Caswell Turner of Cicada Studios. COVID-19 safety procedures will include tables spaced six feet apart, QR codes to digitally access menus, staff wellness checks, frequent cleaning of high-touch surfaces and texts to guests when their table is ready, so they can wait elsewhere to avoid overcrowding. All employees and guests not seated at tables will be required to wear masks.

Snooze’s first Charlotte location opened in Plaza Midwood in June.

Shopping center owners Abacus Capital and Big Cypress Capital bought the 31,000-square-foot Avenues at Atherton property at 2041 S. Blvd for $7.3 million in December 2018, according to county records. The redesigned shopping center is across South Boulevard from Atherton Mill, which is home to anchor store West Elm.

Owen’s Bagels & Deli closed its doors in March 2019 in what was then called the Pavilion at South End. The bagel shop promised it would find a new location, but next steps for the store haven’t been announced.
