Popular ice cream shop adding 2 new stores near Charlotte. Here’s the scoop

A Charlotte-based ice cream shop is bringing even more sweets to the metro.

Seemingly Overzealous, known for its dairy-, egg- and gluten-free desserts, will open two new locations next year in Davidson and Matthews, continuing its expansion in the Queen City, per a news release sent to CharlotteFive.

The Davidson store is slated to open in spring 2026, and the Matthews store will open in late summer. They’ll join the chain’s existing scoop shops in Camp North End, Plaza Midwood and Dilworth.

“We are so grateful for the support we have already received from our existing customer base ...” Seemingly Overzealous co-founder Jessica Berrese said in the release.

“The expansion into Matthews and Davidson allows us the opportunity to connect with and serve even more members of our community, and we couldn’t be more excited.”

Both shops will be 1,000 square feet and showcase the brand’s unique flavors, including Can’t Be All Cookie (cookies + cream) and I’m Freakin’ Out (blood orange with candied ginger). Waffle cones are on the menu alongside ice cream sandwiches, pints and ice cream cakes.

At the new stores, ice cream lovers can also look forward to new offerings like milkshakes, flights and an expanded menu of baked goods.

“We truly believe that everyone deserves to walk into a shop and have options to choose from, regardless of dietary restrictions,” the Seemingly Overzealous website says.

The Davidson and Matthews locations will be open daily:

• Mondays through Thursdays from 1-9 p.m
• Fridays from 1-10 p.m.
• Saturdays from noon-10 p.m.
• Sundays from noon-8 p.m.
