Waffle House opens Valentine’s Day reservations in Charlotte. How to book a booth
Waffle House wants you to meet your sweetheart “under the yellow sign” for a special Valentine’s Day dinner.
The 24-hour diner will mark the sweet occasion with reservation-only dinners at 218 participating restaurants — including at eight Charlotte-area locations — on Saturday, Feb. 14.
Reservations officially opened Jan. 21, and spots are already filling up fast. It’s also the first time customers can book a booth online.
“Many of our locations are already booked, but the high and low counters are available for walk-ins on Valentine’s night,” a Waffle House spokesperson told CharlotteFive.
For one evening, the diner will be transformed into romantic respite with candlelight, table cloths and themed decorations. Waffle House will serve its usual offerings from golden waffles and smothered hash browns, to T-Bones and grits.
This marks the restaurant’s the 18th year of offering guests a special Valentine’s Day dinner. The annual event started in 2008 at a Waffle House in Johns Creek, Georgia, about 30 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, according to Augusta Today.
“A manager watched couples eating on Valentine’s Day and decided to create something memorable,” the outlet reported. “The idea caught fire and spread across the company, growing into what it is today.”
