Italian restaurant permanently closes spot in SouthPark. Here’s what to know

Fontana Di Vino, a modern Italian eatery, has quietly closed its SouthPark restaurant in Charlotte.

As of Feb. 17, a Google listing showed the restaurant as “permanently closed,” and the SouthPark location was no longer listed on its official website. A reason for the closure wasn’t immediately clear.

CharlotteFive reached out to Fontana Di Vino for more information but didn’t immediately hear back.

A local resident said the eatery closed “abruptly” shuttered on Valentine’s Day.

“I know because we had made a reservation weeks ago and got an email from OpenTable stating ‘your reservation has been cancelled,’” Maria Adnado told CharlotteFive. “I reached out to them on Instagram and have yet to hear back.”

Fontana Di Vino has a second spot in Davidson that’s still open.

Described as a “modern pasta chophouse,” the restaurant opened in SouthPark last year. It took over the space once occupied by Fox & Falcon by David Burke and before that, Dogwood: A Southern Table, CharlotteFive reported.

“At Fontana di Vino, we live for ossimoro — where old-school Italian tradition collides with bold, modern moves,” marketing manager Lexie Cortes said at the time. “It’s unapologetic, crave-worthy and made for those who like their meals with a little heat and a lot of attitude.”

Menu highlights included a mozzarella bar, prime steaks, pasta dishes and pizza.
