‘Unforeseen circumstances’ force sudden closure of beloved Matthews restaurant

After 10 years, Miki’s Restaurant is permanently shutting its doors.

Local love for Miki’s Restaurant

The neighborhood eatery was among the must-try spots in the Charlotte metro, known for its classic breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. Daily specials included meatloaf and country-fried steak, with plenty of side items to choose from.

The restaurant has seen outpouring of support from locals saddened by news of its impending closure:

  • “We have enjoyed eating at Miki’s for a long time. We will miss the food, Miki and his family, and the servers,” Rachel Dulin Harkey commented.
  • “Miki’s felt like family. You will each be missed. Wishing you love and success in whatever you do going forward,” Jo Ann Jolly Sizer wrote.
The exterior of Miki’s Restaurant is shown, featuring a red brick facade with black awnings and large window displays of breakfast and brunch dishes. The storefront includes designated curbside pickup signs and the street address “1819 Suite 600” visible on the glass door.
