South Charlotte cocktail bar closing after 3 months. ‘Grateful for all the love’
Masija, a Korean cocktail bar, is closing just a few months after its South Charlotte debut.
In a message posted to Instagram on Wednesday, owners invited the community to visit one last time before the restaurant shutters for good on Thursday, March 26.
“With a heavy heart, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Masija,” they wrote. “We’re incredibly grateful for all the love and support you’ve shown us — it has truly meant everything.”
The reason for the decision wasn’t immediately clear. CharlotteFive reached out for more information Wednesday and was awaiting a response.
Masija opened in the McMullen Creek Market in December, taking over the suite once occupied by 704 Korean BBQ, CharlotteFive reported. It touted itself as “cozy” Korean-style bar serving classic street food alongside soju cocktails, beer and wine.
In its farewell message, the restaurant teased plans to open at a new location but did not say where.
