Team behind Choplin’s Restaurant opening new steakhouse near Lake Norman

The team behind Choplin’s Restaurant is preparing to open the doors on a new concept in the heart of Huntersville.

The Guest House by Choplin’s will bring “small plates, steaks and martinis” to the city’s downtown district this spring, although an official opening date hasn’t been announced.

“To celebrate the culmination of a hard fought journey amongst those who battled tooth and nail with you, is one of the most beautiful and meaningful celebrations,” owners Wes Choplin and Faith Amiga-Choplin wrote on Instagram.

“Cheers to this new adventure.”

A two-story white building with a steeply pitched roof is shown behind a black wrought-iron fence and several small evergreen shrubs. A PODS moving and storage container is parked directly in front of the building, which is surrounded by leafless trees under a clear blue sky.

The Guest House will occupy a restored Victorian-style home on Gilead Road, Cornelius Today reported. The 4,000-square-foot space will house the full-scale restaurant and special event space.

The home also features a 5,000-square-foot outdoor patio and a garage that’s being converted into a bar, according to the newspaper.

The Guest House’s menu will be built around steaks and feature a few favorites from Choplin’s original location in Cornelius, according to Blue Oak Realty.

At the latter, expect classic steak and seafood offerings like blackened Chilean sea bass, Maine lobster tail and a 16-ounce Angus porterhouse steak.

CharlotteFive reached out to the team at Choplin’s for more information Thursday, March 26, and was awaiting a response.
