Carolina-born oyster bar opens first Charlotte restaurant. Here’s when + where
Seafood lovers, rejoice! There’s a new coastal-inspired restaurant in South Charlotte.
Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar debuted at Promenade on Providence on Wednesday, April 8. Known for its beachy aesthetic, the restaurant specializes in East Coast oysters and fresh seafood offerings
Non-seafood option are also on the menu. Think: chicken wings, salads, sandwiches and the signature Breakwater Burger. Plus, there’s a full cocktail bar.
“We were drawn to the brand’s authentic coastal feel, strong culture and focus on customer experience,” Dawn and Kevin Powers, owner-operators of Shuckin’ Shack’s newest location, said in a news release. “We’re excited to create a neighborhood spot where people can gather and enjoy a laid-back dining experience.”
The Carolina-born brand has eight locations across the state, including spots in Raleigh, Durham and Wilmington. The expansion marks Shuckin’ Shack’s first Charlotte outpost, a sprawling 2,718-square-foot restaurant set to join a mix of eateries and retailers at the busy shopping center.
It took over the old Queen City Craft & Gourmet space. That restaurant closed permanently in February 2025 after six and a half years in business, CharlotteFive previously reported.
