If you’re a fan of ”The Bachelor” reality show, there’s a local face you may recognize on your TV screen soon. A woman from Charlotte is looking for love in the upcoming season premiering in January.
Madina Alam is one of the 32 women – the most to ever arrive at the Bachelor mansion on night one — competing to capture the heart of teaching tennis pro Joey Graziadei.
The 31-year-old is a mental health therapist in Charlotte. But she’s also a speaker, model and has a clothing line, according to her social media.
“Madina is passionate about her work as a mental health therapist and loves helping people change their lives. When she isn’t working with clients, Madina loves exercising, dancing and watching ‘The Great British Bake Off,’” her Bachelor bio says. “The therapist is hoping to meet a man who is mature, empathetic, and who won’t be on his phone the whole time during their date nights.”
North Carolina connections to ‘The Bachelor’
There have been multiple North Carolina contestants featured on the reality dating show franchise over the years, including:
Bachelorette Emily Maynard of Charlotte
Bachelor Matt James from Raleigh
Caelynn Bell, former Miss North Carolina USA
Kylee Russell, a nurse and former member of the Hornets’ Honey Bees.
The show always features contestants from all over the world, but Alam is the only person from North Carolina you’ll see this season.
“Madina is a beautiful catch with a huge heart. She comes from a close Bangladeshi family and describes herself as ambitious, loyal and caring,” her bio says. “Madina’s life is very full, she says, adding, ‘I have a lot to be thankful for. I just truly feel like that one missing piece is my person.’”
Only time will tell if Alam and the Bachelor are a perfect match. The new season of the show will premiere on Monday, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
