Friday, Nov. 4

Bring your dog along to sit outside King Canary Brewing in Mooresville and enjoy savory tacos from Muchachos Tacos while you listen to live music from Young Chhaylee at 7 pm. The taproom is open 2-11 p.m., but food will be served 5-9 p.m. 562 Williamson Road, Mooresville.

Saturday, Nov. 5

Meet up with a few friends and sip on mimosa flights at the grand opening of The Hideaway LKN in Cornelius. The full-service bar with a neighborhood gathering spot feel just opened its doors this week. 20910 Torrence Chapel Road, D7, Cornelius.

Sunday, Nov. 6

Vote for the best foot trucks at the 10th annual Cornelius Food Truck Invitational, where 12 of the area’s best will compete to win categories such as Best Looking Truck, Critic’s Choice Award, Most Creative Menu, Most Nutritious and People’s Choice. The festivities will also include live performances, local craft beer, vendors and kids activities. Free entrance. 12-5 p.m. Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave., Cornelius.

Wander around Davesté Vineyards, then stop for a bite to eat to pair with your wine from Davesté Kitchen by Flock. The food truck run by the team from Flock Bistro in Mooresville has created a menu that matches up with each varietal served. Don’t miss the wild crab, paired with the vineyard’s signature Rkatsiteli, a white wine made from estate grapes that won the North Carolina Fine Wine Competition’s double gold award. Noon-8 p.m. 155 Lytton Farm Road, Troutman.

Monday, Nov. 7

Have a late lunch or early dinner at The Waterman Fish Bar in Lake Norman, which is now taking reservations due to popular demand. If you make it between 2-7 p.m., you can enjoy the $1.50 Oyster Happy Hour. 9615 Bailey Road, Cornelius.

Learn Line Dancing with Angie at Lake Norman Brewery from 6-7 p.m., then stay for a few rounds of Music Bingo from 7-9 p.m. 1753 Triangle Circle, Denver.

Thursday, Nov. 10

Support creative writing during the Mooresville Public Library’s Local Author Showcase, a virtual event lasting through Nov. 12. The authors write in a variety of genres for all ages. If you’re looking for something else to read once you’ve gotten inspired, the library staff offers a monthly section of staff picks. 413 N. Main St., Mooresville.
