Friday, April 17 update: The best Italian restaurant contest has moved to Round 2. You can vote here.
We asked for the best Italian restaurants in the Charlotte area, and we need your help to crown a winner.
First, CharlotteFive invited readers to share their favorite local places to eat Italian food. We also turned to our staff’s foodies for recommendations to round out the list of essential restaurants for gnocchi, cannoli and other beloved dishes.
We ended up with 42 nominees. Below, you can vote for your favorite Italian restaurant in or near Charlotte.
If you really want to show your love for a restaurant, feel free to refresh this webpage and vote again and again. Here’s what to know about the upcoming rounds of the contest:
The first round will determine the Top 30. It is currently live and will be live until noon Friday, April 17.
The second round will determine the Top 20. It will be live from about 1 p.m. April 17 until noon Monday, April 20.
The third round will determine the Top 10. It will be live from about 1 p.m. April 20 until noon Wednesday, April 22.
The fourth round will determine the Top 5. It will be live from about 1 p.m. April 22 until noon Friday, April 24.
The fifth round will determine the Top 2. It will be live from about 1 p.m. April 24 until noon Tuesday, April 28.
The sixth round will determine the winner. It will be live from about 1 p.m. April 28 until noon Thursday, April 30.
This is meant to be a fun contest and not a scientific poll. To be eligible, each restaurant has to have a location in the Charlotte area — which includes surrounding areas such as Lake Norman, Gastonia, Matthews, Mint Hill and Fort Mill — and have fewer than 20 locations nationwide.
