Funeral arrangements are set for a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer who died in a wreck involving two semi-trucks on Interstate 85 on Dec. 22. Officer Mia Goodwin, 33, was killed and three other officers were injured.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Officer Mia Goodwin died in the line of duty as first responders were on scene of a highway accident on Interstate 85 early Wednesday.
Here is a timeline of what happened, according to CMPD:
10:37 p.m., Tuesday: A tractor-trailer truck overturned on I-85 South at West W.T. Harris Boulevard, in University City in Charlotte. CMPD officers responded to the wreck.
The semi-truck spilled grain onto the interstate, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, state Department of Transportation, and Charlotte firefighters assisted with managing the wreck and cleanup.
All southbound lanes were shut down to allow crews to clear the debris.
1:03 a.m., Wednesday: A southbound lane was reopened on the interstate. The work crew and police vehicles remained on scene.
3:39 a.m.: A second wreck occurred. A semi-truck with a trailer traveling southbound collided with another truck (a semi with a cab but no trailer). The trucks also struck multiple CMPD vehicles.
3:48 a.m.: 33-year-old CMPD Officer Mia Goodwin was killed. Medic pronounced her dead at the scene.
Officers Shannon Foster, Sean Husk and Jackson Buffington were injured and taken to the hospital. They were released Wednesday morning.
