CMPD responds to food truck fire at Lovin’ Life Music Fest in Charlotte

In the final hours of this year’s Lovin’ Life Music Fest, there was a fire at one of the music festival’s food trucks.

Shortly before 8 p.m. on Sunday, several Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers and the Charlotte Fire Department were seen responding at the Bojangles’ food truck near the Miller Lite Stage during Teddy Swims’ performance.

According to fans at the festival, there were flames seen blowing from inside.

At this time, it’s unclear what exactly happened, but around 9 p.m., CharlotteFive’s team noticed that fire trucks left the scene, though the area was still cordoned off and being guarded.

Monday morning, Bojangles sent the following statement to CharlotteFive:

“We’re incredibly thankful that no one was hurt when one of our Bojangles food trucks caught fire during the Lovin’ Life Music Fest last night. The safety of everyone in our community is always our top priority. We’re working closely with the Charlotte Fire Department to understand what happened and are grateful to first responders for their quick action and support.”
