Day Two of Lovin’ Life Music Fest wasn’t a total washout, but a severe thunderstorm that caused a temporary evacuation of the festival grounds did cut out some of Saturday’s performances.

After waiting nearly an hour and a half for the storm to pass, the temporary delay was lifted, and gates were reopened for fans.

You’d think heavy rain and some winds in 67 degree weather would’ve sent some headed home, but that wasn’t the case. Dozens of people packed both stages once the shows were back on.

Instead of picking up where performances left off amid heavy rain and lightning while concertgoers jammed to Petey Pablo on the Happy Thursday Spiked Refresher Stage, the festival continued with its original lineup schedule.

When fans returned to the Lovin’ Life grounds, the concerts restarted with Lola Young and DJ Jazzy Jeff before Ludacris — and the rain eventually began to fall again. Fans were not able to catch Gigi Perez or regional artist adolescent dreams.

At this time, it’s unclear if those artists will perform Sunday instead.
