Healthcare workers, first responders, teachers, more can get a free burger. Here’s how
The Barcelona Burger & Beer Garden in Mooresville is clapping for our community’s COVID responders in their way — with food.
The award-winning burger restaurant has named Oct. 21 “Heroes Appreciation Day” at its Merino Mill eatery. On that day, free burgers, fries and a soft drink will be given to any healthcare worker, police officer, firefighter, teacher, day care worker or grocery store worker. Just show your workplace ID badge to redeem.
The fine print:
This offer is available from 11:30 a.m. until closing, which is around 8:30 pm.
The Barcelona won’t be able to take call-in orders on this day.
One burger per person.
Your burger choices:
- The Barcelona Classic: Certified Angus beef, American cheese, lettuce, pickle, tomato, onion and house sauce.
- The All-American: Certified Angus beef, American cheese, applewood-smoked bacon, tomato, lettuce, onion and house sauce.
“Everyone has been working hard for many months to keep the community healthy and the economy going during COVID,” owner Michal Bay said in a statement. “We’re glad to lift their spirits with good food.”
MSN.com recently named the Barcelona Classic the best cheeseburger in North Carolina. Barcelona’s sister restaurant, Alino Pizzeria, hosted Appreciation Days in 2020, giving away nearly 7,000 pizzas over three days. Delish recently named Alino as “The Pizzeria Everyone is Obsessed with In Your State.”
