Indian supermarket + food court to open a new store near Charlotte. Here’s when
Another Triveni Supermarket is opening soon as the Indian grocery store chain continues its expansion in the Charlotte metro.
The grocer will officially open the doors on a new store in Waxhaw at a grand opening celebration Saturday, Feb. 21, according to a recent Instagram post.
“Your neighborhood destination for fresh groceries, authentic Indian essentials, and everyday favorites is almost here,” management wrote online, inviting the community to come check out the store.
The North Carolina-based chain has several Charlotte-area locations, including spots in Concord, Pineville and, most recently, Tega Cay, South Carolina.
At Triveni, customers can find groceries, spices and halal meat. There’s also an in-house bakery and prepared Indian dishes that guests can enjoy in the food court.
CharlotteFive reached out to Triveni Supermarket for more information about its newest location and was awaiting a response.
Similar South Asian grocery concepts have opened in Charlotte in recent months, including Desi District and Utsav Supermarket.
There’s also been a boom in restaurants serving traditional Indian cuisine: Masala Bitez in Mooresville, Nawabi Hyderabad House in uptown and the forthcoming Zamindar’s Clubhouse in South End.
