Butler High, three other Meck County teams, hold spots in N.C. AP football poll

Butler High School is one of four teams ranked in this week’s N.C. Associated Press Top 10 poll.

Vance is No. 7; Mallard Creek is No. 8; and Charlotte Catholic is No. 9.

Butler, No. 2 in the Observer’s Sweet 16 prep football poll, lost head coach Brian Hales this week. Hales was suspended with pay following his Saturday arrest on an assault charge connected with a domestic incident, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools reported Tuesday.
