2 Charlotte restaurants are closing soon. What to know ahead of your last visits

Two Charlotte restaurants are set to shutter, but there’s still time to stop in before they close for good.

This week, I reported on two impending restaurant closings, including a popular coffeehouse and a Matthews eatery known for its everyday classics.

Here’s what to know ahead of your final visit:

Bitty & Beau’s

Bitty & Beau’s, once voted Charlotte’s best coffee shop, is closing its only location in the city.

The South End café will close for business Sunday, March 22, local outlets reported. The inclusive coffee shop serves traditional sips like lattes and cappuccinos as part its larger mission to offer employment to individuals with disabilities.

“This decision came only after deep reflection and exploring every possible option to avoid this outcome,” the owners wrote in a note posted inside the coffee shop, according to Axios Charlotte.

Miki’s Restaurant

Miki’s Restaurant in Matthews is closing for good due to “unforseen circumstances.” Its last day in business is Sunday, March 15.

“Thanks for 10 years!” a photo of a handwritten note posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page reads. “We appreciate your loyalty.”

A local favorite, Miki’s is known for its classic breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. Daily specials included meatloaf and country-fried steak, with plenty of side items to choose from.
