In a little over a week, fans from all over the region will be coming to Charlotte to see global superstar Beyoncé perform as part of her Renaissance World Tour.
She’ll be performing on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at Bank of America Stadium, her only stop in the Carolinas, so uptown Charlotte will be packed with local fans and BeyHive members traveling from out of town to see Queen Bey hit the stage.
The concert will be starting at 8 p.m., but fans will likely be out near the stadium hours beforehand. A Bank of America Stadium spokesperson told The Charlotte Observer that there will not be a supporting act, so you’re encouraged to arrive early.
Whether you’re planning to drive to the show or get dropped off, here’s everything you need to know about getting to and from Beyoncé’s concert.
When will the doors open? What time should I get to the show?
According to the Bank of America Stadium website, doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and V.I.P. Early Entry is 6 p.m. so fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid long lines, with mobile tickets ready and easily accessible. All three gates at the stadium will be open to those going to the show.
What are parking options for the Beyoncé concert? Is tailgating allowed?
There are more than 30,000 parking spaces within a 10-15 minute walk of Bank of America Stadium.
You can also plan ahead and book a paid parking space online before the concert.
Officials say tailgating is prohibited at the stadium but policies may differ based on parking lot restrictions.
What about public transit and rideshare options?
Officials say the light rail and rideshare services are also recommended for fans going to the concert.
▪ The designated rideshare drop-off and pick-up area will be at the corner of Third Street and Church Street next to Romare Bearden Park.
▪ If you want to take public transportation, the LYNX Blue Line offers light-rail service between uptown Charlotte and I-485 at South Boulevard with stops at the Carson, Stonewall and Convention Center stations that are close to the stadium. Tickets can be purchased at a Ticket Vending Machine at each station platform or online through the CATS-Pass mobile app.
