Atkins finished with 335 kills and 312 digs for Ardrey Kell (20-10) this season.
Emma Balaban, Weddington cross-country: The Warriors’ sophomore ran a time of 17 minutes, 38.41 seconds to win the 7A West Regional at McAlpine Creek Park on Oct. 25.
Balaban’s run helped Weddington to a third place regional finish.
Juliana Andrea Castellanos-Trujillo, Ballantyne Ridge tennis: The Wolves’ freshman won the 7A state singles’ championship at Millbrook Exchange Park in Raleigh Saturday.
Castellanos-Trujillo also won at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in a 5-2 win at Weddington in the 7A dual playoff quarterfinals, Oct. 22.

Lila Cheatwood and Teagan Reilly, Myers Park Girls’ tennis: The Mustangs’ duo won the 8A state doubles’ title at Millbrook Exchange Park in Raleigh on Oct. 25.

Cheatwood and Reilly also won all four singles matches they played in, during two 8A dual playoff wins over Pinecrest (6-0, state quarterfinals on Oct. 20) and Providence (5-0, state semifinals on Oct. 22).

Davis and McWilliams also went a perfect 5-0 overall in their 6A dual playoff wins over Alexander Central (6-0 on Oct. 20), and T.C. Roberson (7-0 on Oct. 22).
Davis won 6-2, 6-3 against Alexander Central, and then 6-2, 6-0 against T.C. Roberson, both at No. 1 singles.
McWilliams won 6-1, 6-2 against Alexander Central, and then 6-3, 6-1 versus T.C. Roberson, both at No. 3 singles.
Izabella Delli Colli, Parkwood golf: The Wolfpack senior shot a 10-over-par 82, to finish third at the 5A West Regional at Stonebridge Golf Club on Oct. 21.
Delli Colli was also named an all-Rocky River conference performer this season.
Kennedy Gallentine, East Lincoln golf: The Mustangs’ freshman shot an even-par 72, to win the 5A West Regional title by eight shots at Stonebridge Golf Club on Oct. 21.
Gallentine’s play also helped East Lincoln to a 5A Western Regional championship by four shots.
Gallentine, the Western Foothills’ Athletic conference player of the year, led East Lincoln to its first regional golf title in school history.
Mary Ellen Lovelace, Gaston Day volleyball: The Spartans’ senior setter had 48 assists and 26 digs in 3-2 win over St. Thomas More Academy to claim their second straight NCISAA 2A state championship on their home court on Oct. 25.
Lovelace also had 32 assists and 17 digs in a 3-0 NCISAA 2A state semifinal win over Rocky Mount Academy on Oct. 21.
Lovelace has 830 assists and 262 digs for Gaston Day (21-4) this season.
Kelsey Sciacca, Charlotte Latin golf: The Hawks’ senior holed out for eagle from 67 yards out on her final hole to tie Providence Day in regulation play and force a playoff at the NCISAA Division I state championship at Greensboro National on Oct. 22.
Sciacca — who finished as the individual state runner-up with a two-day score of even par 144 (69-75) — helped the Charlotte Latin girls’ golf team to a NCISAA Division I state title, beating Providence Day on the first playoff hole.
Sciacca is a Washington & Lee University commit.
Gracie Song, Cuthbertson golf: The Cavaliers’ senior shot 3-under-par 69, with six birdies, to finish as 7A West Regional runner-up at Longleaf Golf and Family Club in Southern Pines on Oct. 21.
Song, the Southern Carolinas’ conference (SCC) player of the year, shot a school-record tying 32 on the front nine at regionals.
Song averaged a 33.5 per nine holes in SCC play this season
