ABC is back with another night of “The Bachelorette” in a double-night feature with Jenn Tran picking her final two men — which could be Raleigh’s Marcus Shoberg.
Picking up from Monday night, the local military veteran headed into the final rose ceremony of the season along with Devin Strader and Jonathon Johnson after each had a fantasy suite date.
At this point in the season, each of the men have pretty strong connections with Jenn. But as of Monday night, she only had acknowledged being in love with Marcus. But — but! — he said he was unsure if he loves her and that he’s not really ready to propose with the speed that the show demands.
From his limo entrance, two one-on-one dates and even a hometown visit, Marcus has been from a front-runner as he spent more time with the 26-year-old bachelorette.
Let’s not forget about Devin. To add even more emotional drama into the mix, Monday night’s episode ended with a cliffhanger as Devin went to Jenn’s hotel room to confront her about his doubts about their relationship — leaving fans with way too many questions.
Buckle up and grab the popcorn (and, of course, the roses.) Here’s a recap of the latest rose ceremony in the second part of the episode as well as the “Men Tell All” part of the season on Tuesday night.
Did Devin decide to go home? Was Marcus’ overnight date with Jenn enough to bring clarity to his conflicted feelings?
Which of the three men did Jenn decide would meet her family ahead of a potential engagement?
And of course: spoilers ahead.
Jenn and Marcus have emotional conversation
Before their fantasy suite date, Jenn confidently told producers that she was in love with him and had been feeling that way for weeks.
But despite their continuous connection, Marcus has struggled with his feelings much of the season. He told Jenn as much during their fantasy suite date.
“Why I’m worried is, because I feel unsure, and you deserve someone that is sure about you,” he told her. “It’s been hard for me to get to a point where I feel comfortable that I’m, like, in love.”
Jenn responded by telling Marcus that she loves him. After several moments of tension, it was unclear what direction Jenn would go in. Would Marcus stay for the fantasy suites? Would he decide to go home? Would a heartbroken Jenn send him packing?
But ultimately, after talking about not wanting to give up on their connection, the two decided to go forward with spending the night together in the fantasy suite.
An unexpected visit
Tuesday night, viewers watched as Devin went to go talk to Jenn about not knowing how strongly she felt about their relationship, all was right between the two after she reassured him that she does love him.
“I love you, you freaking idiot,” she said.
Then, it was time for Jenn to make what she called a “nearly impossible decision” of who to send home during the rose ceremony after having great dates with Marcus, Devin and Jonathon.
Did Marcus get a rose?
After giving out the first rose to Devin, tension was building for Marcus as he waited to hear if Jenn would be taking their relationship to the next level.
Ultimately, despite a week of heavy conversations, he did get a rose — a decision that brought out several gasps from shocked fans in the ‘Men Tell All’ audience.
Who got eliminated during the rose ceremony?
A sad Jonathon was eliminated, leading to a very emotional breakup. (Later, host Jesse Palmer invited Jonathon to be a cast member on the future season of “Bachelor in Paradise.”)
And then there were two
As the final two men left on Jenn’s journey to love, Marcus and Devin will now go on to meet her loved ones ahead of potentially proposing next Tuesday, Sept. 3 for a three-hour finale.
