Victims of double homicide in southeast Charlotte identified by police

Two men were shot and killed at a southeast Charlotte apartment complex Sunday morning, and a third man was injured, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

The double homicide victims were Gerardo Arellano-Sanchez, 33, and Miguel Angel Molina Cruz, 31, according to police. Hugo Arellano-Sanchez, 24, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.

The shootings happened on Electra Lane, near Independence Boulevard. Officers arrived at the scene just before 1 a.m. after responding to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon, according to CMPD.

After arriving at the scene, police found the three men outside an apartment building. Police have not released any information about suspects.
